What is OBD testing?
OBD stands for "on board diagnostics." Beginning in model year 2013, all trucks and large vehicles are equipped with OBD (on board diagnostics) from the manufacturer. This system allows for vehicle diagnostics of the emission control system. At PAS Mobile Testing, we utilize software and hardware that is specifically required by CARB for checking your vehicle's current emmissions status. This software is READ-ONLY and does not have the capabilities to check anything except your emissions system status. If you have ANY questions about this, do not hesitate to ask.
How does CARB get my results?
CARB requires that all test results are submitted electronically by a credentialed tester through their approved software. After the test is completed, the results are directly communicated to the CARB database.
What info do you give to CARB?
The only information given to CARB is your VIN number, license plate information, and test results generated by their software. There is no other communication between PAS Mobile Testing and CARB.
